Lawrences Auctioneers present their June Fine Art Sale, including silver, jewellery, pictures, furniture and decorative arts.

The English silver includes pieces from a Charles II silver trefid spoon and a large William III lidded tankard to Hester Bateman cream jugs and sugar baskets, George II candlesticks, and complete canteens and tea services by Mappin & Webb. Also included is Continental and Irish silver.

The jewellery section features diamond, ruby, sapphire and emerald pieces and wristwatches include Rolex, Omega, IWC, Breitling, Girard-Perregaux and Tudor.

Pictures include works by Nathaniel Dance-Holland, Gerald Leslie Brockhurst RA, Gillian Ayres CBE RA, S.J. Lamorna Birch RA, John Piper CH and Eugène Boudin, with portraits, landscapes and seascapes spanning the 17th to 20th centuries. There are also portrait miniatures attributed to Andrew Plimer and Robert Thorburn ARA.

The furniture section features good Georgian and Regency pieces, and a strong group of Cotswold School work by Gordon Russell, Ernest Gimson and Russell & Son.

The sale closes with ceramics and Asian works of art, including a collection of Moorcroft from early Macintyre Florian pieces to later studio vases, Minton art pottery, Chinese and Japanese porcelain, and Chinese jade snuff bottles.
