Lawrences Auctioneers present their July 20th Century Design Sale, including furniture, decorative arts, studio pottery, works on paper and paintings.
The sale begins with furniture, including notable pieces by Florence Knoll, Charles and Ray Eames, Arne Jacobsen and Joe Colombo, alongside mid-century sideboards by Jentique and G Plan, pieces by Gordon Russell and Eric Lyons, and an Arts & Crafts walnut bureau.
Decorative arts includes a collection of Moorcroft, glass by Lalique, Siddy Langley, Bertil Vallien for Kosta Boda and Whitefriars, and a Déguë Art Deco vase, with studio pottery by Keza Rudge, Leo Francis Matthews and David Lloyd Jones also represented. Also included are a Joe Colombo Boby trolley, Matthew Hilton Swan candlesticks, a Tolomeo standard lamp by De Lucchi and Fassina for Artemide and Festival of Britain memorabilia, including a Royal Pavilion sign.
The paintings and works on paper include a Salvador Dalí print, works by Sir Antony Gormley, Anthony Caro, Michael Ayrton and Ralph Brown, alongside paintings by Arthur Karl Maderson, Stanley William Hayter, Barnett Freedman, Julian Trevelyan RA and Patrick Procktor RA. A collection of five vintage photographs by William Mortensen and a group of works by Glen Baxter, prints by Graham Clarke, Josef Herman, Reg Gammon and Charles Frederick Tunnicliffe are also included.
